Exhibition

Exhibition Workshop
Today we held a very successful and wonderful workshop in school to know more about how the exhibition will be working and what the purpose of it is. Some purposes of exhibition are:
- We get to learn about something we are interested in
 - It prepares us for later life
- It prepares us for MYP
We did many activities since the entire workshop was around 4 hours long (snack break included). These are some of them:
 - To get into our groups we were each given a piece of a puzzle, we had to find the people with the other pieces of puzzle and that will be your group for the work shop (not the exhibition).
- We had to find important words in the IB mission statement.

Central idea
Natural events affect the phsical world in various ways.

Ms. Sara, one of our mentors had a meeting with us to just see where we are and how we are getting along. She also showed us (My Exhibition Group), a very useful app called pocket. You can save websites on this app and access them anywhere without wifi. This app was very useful to me because I did not always have WiFi or sometimes it is very slow. We also had another meeting with Shikhar's mom on 20th April so she also helped us. Since this was our first meeting with Shikhar's mom she just asked us where we stand right now and if we needed help anywhere. So we told her everything and then she gave us some suggestions. We made our goals for the week for the week and Shikhar's mom said that she would make a new page on our site and put our goals on it.

This is the last week of the exhibition!!
This is the most exiting week of exhibition. Exhibition will be on this Thursday and Friday. I finished my model over the week end even though I have not tested it yet, which I will do on Tuesday. This week we will be practicing our lines for our group presentation.
Today we decided which people would welcome everyone to to the exhibition. Everyone who wanted to do this had to write their name on a sticky note and put it in a box. One person would close their eyes and chose a random sticky note. Six people drew out one note, each persons name who came out of the box would welcome everyone. Each one of those six people got a piece of paper with what they were to say printed out on it. The people were :
Kyra (me), Zen, Jai, Karoline, Savera, Sharwari.
After that we decided the order in which each group presented. The order was :
Natural Explorers (my group), Natural World, Scientists and Technological Society.
We have been practicing this for the last few days.
EXHIBITION IS TOMORROW!!!!!
I am very nervous but I decided that insteasd of being nervous I will get everything togrther and stop being nervous because everything is going to be fine !!!!!!(I hope!)

Exhibition Reflection
Exhibition was a very new and interesting experience for me, because before I had never done anything like exhibition before so I was really looking forward to knowing exactly how exhibition would

Have I achieved my goals?
My goals for exhibition were -
  • Making other people aware of global warming
  • Telling people ways to stop global warming
  • Giving people reasons to stop global warming
  • Telling people that we are the cause of global warming
I achieved my goals for exhibition and I feel that I have done all I could have to spread the fact that global warming is real and that if we do not stop it now humans might become extinct.

What have I achieved throughout the Exhibition?
Throughout the exhibition I learnt a lot about my topic. More that I thought I would, This knowledge led me to knowing that we humans have destroyed the environment and it is because of us that in the next generation might not have the things that we do and at that time deaths will be more common than there are now.

What did I enjoy doing/learning?
I enjoyed learning so much about my topic and I enjoyed making my model and researching. I also enjoyed learning about the other topics that were linked to my own. The main was - Gases

Was my Exhibition successful?
I was very happy with what I had done for exhibition and I think that it was very successful. Many people said that I had a lot of good information and a few people also said that my presentations were good.
Can I improve on anything?
In the pictures that I took for my video nobody could actually read what I had written, and I think it would have be better if the video was a slideshow so that I could control when the pictures would change.

What obstacles have I overcome throughout?
I overcame many obstacles throughout the exhibition. One of the biggest obstacle that I overcame was:
I found two websites that said that global warming had been under control for the past nineteen years. So for about five minutes I thought that all that I had done in my topic was going to waste but Mr. Walsh said that I could encourage other people to also help prevent global warming.

Were people impressed by your knowledge? How do I know?
I think that many people were impressed by my knowledge on global warming. Because many of the people said and told me that I had very good information and also a lot of it. And many wrote good job/work.

Am I happy with what I have done?
I am very happy with what what I did for exhibition. I think that I had done the best I could have and I know that I could not have done better than I already had. I was also very happy with all the information that I had gathered .

How difficult was my Exhibition?
Like I told a few PYP 4rs:
I think that you find exhibition hard only if you do not like the topic that you are studying.
That is the way that I feel somebody else might feel different. I am not saying that what I am saying is true it just feel like that to me.

What did I not enjoy?
I actually did not enjoy nothing. Exhibition was a new thing for me and it is also a once in a lifetime thing so I was eager to do my best. So instead of not enjoying anything I just enjoyed everything that I could.

Judging by people’s responses do I think my Exhibition was interesting enough?
Yes, according to what many people told me and most of the comments, I think that almost  everybody thought that my exhibition was very interesting. In some of the comments that people wrote about seven people wrote good information/good job etc.

Did I gain a thorough understanding of my area of interest?
Yes, I think I gained a thorough understanding of my topic because many people told me and one person even wrote in the comments that  I have a good understanding of my subject. And a few people told me that I knew my topic very well.

Do I think I have given enough knowledge to people about my topic?
Yes I think that I have given enough knowledge about my topic to everyone and I have spread the awareness of global warming the best I could have and if anybody had not believed in global warming before they definitely knew now.

Do I have any regrets?
I do not exactly have any regrets but if I had any they would only be that exhibition is over.
Did I learn anything new?
I learnt many new things that I did not know before such as:
  • If global warming doesn't stop now humans might become extinct.
  • We also might be heading into a new ice age.
How challenging was Exhibition?
Exhibition wasn't exactly challenging but sometimes when I was tired after after-school I often got irritated at the fact that I needed to do exhibition/work when I got home but otherwise I just enjoyed exhibition instead of regretting it.
